OUR longtime commitment to sustainability

As Lena Street Lofts was being built, we made a commitment to doing so in a sustainable way with awareness of

In 2006? 7?, when Lena Street Lofts was being built, it was to be the largest commercial solar project in the state of New Mexico. The generating capacity surpasses (still?) any other commercial solar project in the state and generates over 26 (what is this number now?) kilowatts of energy.

At Lena Street Lofts, we use the highest-quality, most efficient photovoltaic system available to produce electricity from the hot, New Mexican sun. Our powerful solar panels are made up of photovoltaic cells that are produced by reputable manufacturers. Every kilowatt of solar power offsets one ton of carbon dioxide per year and saves 800 gallons of water per year that would be used to create energy from fossil fuels.

Solar panels were installed on four of the initial six buildings in 2006/7. In 201X (what year?) building 1708 was constructed with an additional solar panel system. With the latest addition to Lena Street Lofts, building 1701, we expect to provide 100% of the electrical requirements from solar energy.

Across Lena Street Lofts, we have installed X# Sunpower panels, and 35% (?) of the buildings’ energy is derived from solar.

Lena Street Lofts is committed wherever possible to protect our environment and has been since 2006/7.
